Soy and the Truth
Soy is found everywhere as a food additive (it is cheap and readily available).  Lots of people are on the soy "kick" - they believe the hype that it is healthy.  The truth is soy seriously interferes with normal hormone balance.  Soy is a xenoestrogen that impacts the hormone balance-which may lead to estrogen dominance symptoms.  Menopause imbalances such as hot flashes are made worse by ingesting soy.

Ringing in the Ears
Ringing in the ears or tinnitus may be caused by chemicals such as MSG.  Sometimes MSG is disguised under names such as hydrolyzed vegetable protein, flavorings, natural flavorings. It is found in prepared foods such as canned soups, lunch meats, condiments, and salad dressings. Aspartame may also cause symptoms like tinnitus.

Sweet Potato, a Superfood!
This vegetable, found in Peruvian caves dating back 10,000 years contains fiber, potassium, Vitamin B6, and a high amount of Vitamin A. Sweet potatoes are lower on the glycemic index than white potatoes so they are better for people watching their weight and balancing blood sugar levels. Keep sweet potatoes in a cool, dark place for no more than 2 weeks.  Do not refrigerate.

PMS Relief
Published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine:  researchers have linked aromatherapy to reducing the severity of menstrual cramps. They tested a blend of lavender, clary sage, and rose essential oils.  Women received a 15-minute abdominal aromatherapy massage for one week before their periods. Please Note:  Only pure therapeutic essential oils are effective.  Synthetics would have no beneficial effect on the body, and should not be applied topically.
