Sardinia, an island off the west coast of Italy, has the highest percentage of people over 100 years old in the world. Some researchers state that it is genetics. Some of our health is based on genetics, but the rest is our choice! What kind of lifestyle do these people enjoy? They live a moderate lifestyle, walk a lot, the air is fresh and unpolluted. Their diet consists of healthy meat, fresh seafood, homegrown organic vegetables, olive oil eaten daily, and local red wine. A staple of their diets is a soup made with lots of vegetables, olive oil, beans, and a little of the local cheese. Healthy soups help us eat lots of vegetables and build our immune systems. Essential for a long and healthy life.
