IPods and Pacemakers
When an Apple IPod is held 2" away from the chest of someone wearing a pacemaker, electromagnetic interference can occur in seconds, causing rapid heartbeats. If you have a pacemaker, do not put an iPod in your chest pocket or anywhere near the pacemaker.

Abracadabra
From the Farmer's Almanac: During the Middle Ages, the magical word "abracadabra" was believed to ward off diseases and fevers. The word was written on parchment 11 times in an inverted triangle shape, with each line containing one less letter. The paper was worn around the neck and each line then spoken. As the word became shorter, the disease would fade.

Clean Kitchen Sponge
Kitchen sponges can be full of bacteria. There is an easy, non-chemical way to decontaminate. Rinse the sponge, wring it out and microwave it for 60 seconds. The microwave will kill the germs.

Milk Thistle
Milk thistle is a relative to the artichoke and appears to protect the liver. It contains silymarin, which boosts the organ's ability to repair itself. Milk thistle has even been used to treat hepatitis A and C. If you live in a polluted city, travel a lot, or will be consuming more than a little alcohol, try taking milk thistle capsules.
